What is a manzillian?

A manzillian is when the hair is removed from his junk aka his entire pubic region of a man. This includes the upper pubic area down to the shaft, the sac, and all the way to his butt and butt crack to show off that hot ass!  Of course, if you are too chicken to handle the pain, you can choose to skip the crotch area but the price will be the same. Generally, it will take us 15-30 minutes to complete a manzillian wax.

How long does the hair have to be for a good clean wax?

Your hair has to be at least ½ inches long and no shaving or waxing within the last past four weeks to have a clean wax without any stragglers. It’s your call. If you decide to come earlier than you will just only be donating to our vacation fund. It may take up to three waxing treatments to achieve smooth skin due to the fact that hair grows in stages and all of your hair is never at the same stage. It is important to avoid shaving between waxing appointments, as this interrupts the process and stimulate the hair growth again.

How long will the waxing results last?

After a client’s first waxing, the results can last 3 to 6 weeks depending on the individual’s hair re-growth rate. In most cases, hair growth is minimal during the first week or two and noticeably increases in the third and fourth week. Heat stimulate the hair, therefore hair grows quicker in the summer months than in the winter. With regular waxing the length of time between treatments will increase. Continued regular waxing results in sparse hair re-growth over time.

How long does Brazilian bikini waxing take?

Depending on the density of the hair growth your

waxing appointment will take between 10-20 minutes.

When I’m on my period, can I get waxed?

Yes woman but wear a tampon and know that it will hurt more

because your body is more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

The best time is to be waxed about a week after your menstrual cycle,

try to avoid caffeine, nicotine, lack of sleep and stress as these can

make you feel over sensitive during your visit.

Do you use numbing cream on your clients?

Nope.  No pain, no gain!

What if the pain is too much for me to endure?

Your waxer will secretly chuckle and continue unless you tell her to stop. There are no breaks and if you decide to not finish the procedure you will still be charged the full price of your appointment.

Does a brazilian or manzillian hurt? The best way to answer this is, “hell yes!” But, different people have different pain threshold.  On a good note, most people find that the actual pain is less than they expected and of course, we will provide enough pressure after each strip to ensure that you have the least level of pain.

What can I do to reduce the pain from a waxing pain?

There are several options to reduce the pain from Brazilian or a manzillian waxing. You can take two Ibuprofen pills before waxing to reduce the future pain.

I’m a first time waxer and I have a special event coming up. Should I wax right before my event?

We would suggest you plan ahead. Ideally, we would like to wax you once or twice before your event in case there is any major inflammation and swelling, irritation and ingrown hairs. Not saying that it will happen for sure, but we always want to be safe. Can we wax you right before your event? Of course.

How much time do I need before my event?

If you are trying to get waxed at least 2 times before your event, you are looking at 6 weeks prior. 3 times – 12 weeks. If you are waxing right before your event we would recommend at least 24-48 hours. Say your event is on a Saturday night we would have you wax Thursday.

What should I do to prepare for my wax service?

  1. Come in freshly showered.

  2. Take 2 Advil unless your doctor has indicated otherwise.

  3. Anecdotally, clients have told us that if they come in hungry waxing is more painful.

  4. Limit your caffeine. Caffeine makes your nervous system more sensitive.

  5. Do not go tanning immediately before or after your service.

  6. Exfoliate the areas we are waxing gently for a few days prior to your service.

What should I do after my waxing service?

  1. Stay away from hot tubs, oceans, pools, exercising, hiking, and sweating.

  2. Your skin is wide open to bacteria for 24-48 hours. Also, abstaining from

  3. sex if you had your Brazilian done is a good idea for at least 24 hours.

  4. Keep the area as clean as possible. Exfoliation is key to keeping ingrown hairs away.

What is exfoliation?

The method of exfoliation works to remove the dead skin, dirt, and debris from the hair and body, which makes it easier for the wax to stick to your hair, rather than your skin. This means your wax will hurt less and work more effectively – and who doesn't want an easy-breezy trip to the waxing salon, amirite?!

Why should you exfoliate?

Always exfoliate before waxing. We've said it before, but it's so important it's worth mentioning again. If you fail to properly clean and exfoliate the areas before your appointment, you risk having the wax stick to your skin and an uncomfortable struggle to remove the hair properly. You even increase the chances of getting ingrown hairs. Although your skin naturally sloughs away old, dead skin cells to generate new ones, your body needs a little help with speeding up the rejuvenation process. Exfoliation provides that gentle push. You exfoliate to remove the top layer of dead skin. Without proper exfoliation, the older skin cells, as well as the debris that comes with them, can trap in bacteria by blocking the pores. This leads to ingrown hairs, rashes, irritation, and sometimes even odor or infection. Yikes. Because you're dealing with such a delicate and sensitive area, when exfoliating the vaginal or genital areas, only exfoliate the bikini line, top, and sides of the waxed area. That goes for both men and women even if you're getting a Brazilian wax. Never use an exfoliant on the inside of the vagina or buttocks.  Some recommend using a gentle exfoliator like the Grumari Body Exfoliant, at least 48 hours before your wax appointment to make the process quicker, easier, and less painful.

How do you exfoliate?

Your skin is sensitive and requires a caring touch when applying creams, cleansers or scrubs. When exfoliating, you can use your hands, a rough washcloth, sponge, or a loofah glove to work the scrub into the area. To exfoliate the area, squeeze a nickel to quarter amount of product from the container into your hands. Use your scrubbing tool to gently move along your bikini line in a small circular motion to remove dead skin cells that may be clogging up the pores. Be sure to cover the entire surface of the area. Allow the exfoliate to sit on your skin for up to 3 minutes. Rinse the area well. Do this after you've cleaned the area with a mild soap or body wash. Once you've rinsed off the area, pat dry and apply a natural body oil or light lotion to moisturize and keep your skin soft and healthy after the exfoliation.  The bikini area is naturally sensitive, so make sure to not over-exfoliate by scrubbing too hard on your skin. You want to avoid leaving the skin raw or irritated.

When should you exfoliate?
As a rule of thumb, you want to wait at least 2-3 days after your wax, and 2-3 before your next appointment to begin exfoliating, especially if you start to see the hair beginning to grow. Be sure not to irritate or traumatize the skin so that it's in good condition for the wax. This allows redness and soreness to fade away and gives any open pores the time they need to close up. Exfoliating over freshly-waxed skin will also create friction and inflammation over existing irritation so give your skin time to heal and get back to normal before making a start.

How often should you exfoliate?
The early stages of hair re-growth can begin a week or two after waxing and occasionally softer hairs can begin to curl in on themselves if faced with a barrier, like a clogged pore, because their tips are so fine. Continuing to exfoliate the skin regularly encourages these fine hairs to grow back up through the skin and prevents them from turning into those annoying ingrown hairs that can feel especially itchy around the bikini line. During the cooler months, it is recommended to exfoliate at least twice per week as the skin easily becomes drier and the hair more stubborn. During the warmer months, you want to keep the skin glow, smooth, and hydrated so exfoliate at least once per week.

Is it normal to have irritation, bumps and swelling?

If it is your first time it is. The hair follicle has never been disturbed and the roots are deep, therefore pulling the hair from the root will make your skin not happy. The irritation will normally go away within 24 hours, in some cases it will last longer. Again, keeping the area clean will affect how long this will last. The first time is worst time, as your skin gets used to waxing it will become less severe to non-existent over time.

OMG, I am bleeding! If the hair in the area we are waxing is coarse/dense it is possible that you will have topical spotty bleeding? This goes away by the time we are done with your wax service. If there is anything beyond that, your esthetician will let you know.

What happens when I get bumps after waxing?

Many people will observe small, red bumps on the skin immediately after waxing. Others may notice them about a week later.

If you develop bumps after the initial inflammation subsides — a week at most after waxing — they may be a result of ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs are a specific type of folliculitis. They form when hair grows back into the skin instead of up out of the skin's surface. Wearing very tight clothing that rubs against the hair follicles can cause further irritation and may make the condition worse.

What can I do at home to soothe bumps after waxing?

You can cleanse the skin. Using a gentle soap and warm water to cleanse the skin can help minimize irritants. Gently pat the skin dry to avoid further irritation.

You can also cold compresses. Applying a cold compress to the area can help soothe irritation and reduce post-waxing bumps. A person can run cold water over a washcloth and apply it to the skin. You can also use warm compresses are helpful for ingrown hairs, as they can help the pores open up and potentially release the ingrown hair.

Remember to wear loose clothing: Not wearing tight clothing for 1–2 days after waxing can help keep the fibers from rubbing against the skin and causing irritation.

Applying cortisone cream to clean skin after waxing may help relieve inflammation and swelling.  Applying fragrance free moisturizers, such as aloe vera gel, may help soothe irritated skin post-waxing and reduce inflammation.
